Zsanett Marmanidis

Candidate

My name is Zsanett Marmanidis. I arrived in the United States in 2012, initially living in New York—where I met my husband—before moving to the Boston area in 2015. We currently live in Dedham; my mother-in-law lives with us, and we do not have children yet. I am the only member of my family living in America: my mother has lived in Northern Italy for over twenty years, and my father lives in Hungary, near Lajosmizse.

Community engagement is a core family value for me. My father has been the mayor of Felsőlajos for 16 years, and both of my parents worked in commerce for over 30 years. They set an example where serving and supporting people is a natural part of life. These values have stayed with me throughout my own journey.

I discovered the Hungarian Society of Massachusetts about 3–4 years ago. Since then, I have regularly followed your programs and attended several events. Recently, I have spoken with János Attila Perge on multiple occasions and expressed my keen interest in becoming actively involved in the association's work. I am particularly drawn to event planning, implementing new programs and creative ideas, and organizing community events—whether indoors or outdoors, or specifically for families and children.

Organization, building and maintaining relationships, and solving problems quickly and efficiently have always been my strengths. I enjoy working with people, coordinating tasks, and communicating; for me, it is a high priority to ensure that inquiries and questions receive timely, thoughtful responses. I believe the foundation of a well-functioning community is attentiveness, accessibility, and an active presence.

Currently, I work as a realtor and general contractor in our family business. Additionally, I am pursuing college studies online, which allows me a flexible schedule. I am happy to take on tasks involving greater responsibility—whether in organizational, coordination, or leadership roles—be it managing programs, preparing for meetings, or providing more comprehensive support for community work.

I wish to contribute to the Society's operations with commitment, energy, and reliability, and I am open to assisting the community’s further development in a leadership capacity. Staying connected to and passing on Hungarian culture is very important to me, which is why I would like to take an active role, potentially as a member of the board. I would like to indicate that I intend to attend the general assembly on March 7th in person, and I would welcome the opportunity to join the

Society's leadership.
