Our national holidays
Every year, together with Boskola and scouts, we commemorate our two biggest national holidays at various events.
On March 15, in addition to the ceremonial program organized at Boskola, we will lay a wreath at the memorial plaque, in honor of Sándor Petőfi, in the Prudential Center building. Petőfi, as one of the greatest figure of our poetry and an outstanding leader of the revolution, speaks to the current generation with his memorial plaque. The realization of the monument is thanks to the enthusiastic work of the Hungarians in the Boston area.
On October 23rd, after the commemoration organized by the scouts, we will remember the unsung heroes and lay a wreath at the memorial, in Boston's Liberty Square. The statue was created by sculptor György Hollósy on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Revolution. The monument was inaugurated on October 23, 1986, with the participation of the then mayor of Boston, Senator Kennedy, and Gergely Pongrátz, commander of the Corvin Park.
We look forward to welcoming all interested parties to our next commemorative events.
